Sweet Tooth Cures

The question I received was this “how do you deal with cravings for sweets?”. This got me thinking about what I actually do, and what I recommend – Yes they are two different things. Reason being is I am super hard on myself at times and I turn cravings back around on myself. For example, I may tell myself “am I really going to let this damn cookie occupy my mind? HELL NO!” So when others ask me this I have to remember not everyone handles things the way I do and sweet cravings can really be painful. In those times I have 5 things I like to tell them in hopes at least one of them may actually help.

Option 1 – Meditate

I know this seems strange but sometimes when hungry or craving something just going to a silent still area in your head can calm the urge. Try to spend 10-15 minutes sitting or laying still focussing on your breathe and how it travels through your body.

Option 2 – Drink “Infused” Water

Get a giant glass of ice water and ad in your favorite fruit or berries. Not only is it enjoyable but it has healthy benefits as well.

Option 3 – Go Green

This may not be at the moment of a craving but chances are if you open the flood gates and strive to eat more and more green veggies throughout the day your cravings will diminish. Stay fueled and FULL on tons of veggies!

Option 4 – CREAMSICLE JELLO

1 small package sugar free orange gelatin 1 cup boiling water 1/2 cup cold water 1/2 cup heavy cream

Put the gelatin mix in a medium bowl; add the boiling water. Stir 2 minutes. Stir in the cold water and cream until blended well. Cover and chill at least 4 hours, until set. As it chills, the gelatin will separate into two layers; one creamy and one clear.

Makes 3-4 servings

Per 1/3 Recipe: 143 Calories; 15g Fat; 2g Protein; 1.5g Carbohydrate; 0g Dietary Fiber; 1.5g Net Carbs Per 1/4 Recipe: 108 Calories; 11g Fat; 2g Protein; 1g Carbohydrate; 0g Dietary Fiber; 1g Net Carb

*Remember, switch up the flavors if you desire.

Option 5 – Supershake “Fight Camp Version” (Aka low carb)

-1.5 Sccops Vanilla Truetein Protein

-1 Scoop Chocolate Hemp Force Protein

-Tablespoon of Grass Fed Butter

-8oz Unsweetened Almond Milk

-1/4 Cup Coconut Flour

-1/4 Cup Mixed Nuts (Walnuts, Brazil Nuts, Cashews, Macadamia)

I use a blendtech blender and toss in a bunch of ice and blend until its nice and “shaved”. Then I add in the butter, protein powder and almond milk and continue to blend until its a think ice cream consistency.

Now your ready to mix in the rest and stir it up well, then freeze for 20-40min, and lastly enjoy your treat!

There you have it, 5 ways to cure that sweet tooth!

Live On,
